Well … in roughly chronological order ….

1976-ish – got my first acoustic guitar from brother. Learned to play largely by studying a book by Frederick Noad – probably an early version of this one!

1980-ish – worked here and saved up, sold a load of LPs, and bought a cheap electric guitar (Westbury SG) and a 50 watt amp (Leech)

1989 - Aberystwyth – after practicing and not getting bands together for a long time – finally appeared in a scratch outfit called the “Methylene Blues Band” – for one appearance at the Marine Hotel on 08/12/89

1989 – But…. we had also been forming “Last Chance” and debuted at the Student’s Union Aberystwyth on 11/12/89

1989-1993 – with “Last Chance” and subgroup “Plan B” . Played almost 60 gigs over these 3 years in and around Aberystwyth. Last appearance 10/02/93 at the Ship and Castle. Recorded an album (on cassette called ‘Strangely Enough‘ – tracks to appear here later.

1994-1995 - formed “Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees” who are still going from strength to strength, and whom I still play with now and again. 60 -70 gigs in and around Stoke-on-Trent. More info on the EFSB site.

1995-1999 - not a lot happened musically.

2000ish – produced a live compilation of old Last Chance tracks – “The Angel and the Fountain”

1999-2005 – various solo appearances doing covers, depping gigs with the Sugar Bees, the odd duo with Ade Collins, an abortive attempt to form another band “Stone Cold Sober” – 20 odd gigs over 6 years.

2005 – present - solo, doing covers at various acoustic nights around Staffordshire. Some more recording. See the other Music pages on this site for up to date news and sound and video files.

Gigs/Live appearances to date – 263 by my count (as of 06/07/09 – Last appearance at Granvilles at Paul Walker’ open mic night.)
